I made a series of photographs of the cut section of trees that were felled down as part of seasonal felling. Appearing as fresh wounds, I could sense the pain and distress each one of them went through; the physical pain of the wound should have been much less than the inner pain on recognizing the thanklessness of those who enjoyed the shade and breathed the clean air. I felt the throb on the tree trunk just as well as the helplessness in the air.
The photographs were overdrawn with pigment pen, always keeping an archival workflow.
