Tamil Nadu (The Land of the Tamils) lies at the southernmost tip of the Indian peninsula. Nestled between the Western and Eastern Ghats mountain ranges, the Tamil Nadu has a variegated landscape ranging between the arid southwestern region and the fertile coastal area. Scattered among these largely agricultural lands are flat, vast and expansive landscapes that are profoundly lonely and sometimes agoraphobic.
